Hope Houses at Hope Meadows

Rantoul, Illinois
8 Supported Living Units & Community Center

Completed 2008 while at Mithun

Hope Meadows is an intergenerational community created to support adoptive families and children coming out of the foster care system.  Many of the elders who have contributed to the community as informal grandparents find it difficult to “age in place” in their existing houses as their health and mobility decline. The new Hope Houses, connected to the Intergenerational Center and adjacent the new community center, are designed to preserve the relationships between elders and adopted children and keep the elders active and vital members at the center of the community.
