Tacoma Lutheran envisioned creating an environment for their dementia residents where seniors could “explore, engage in stimulating activities and live in a beautiful supportive, home-like atmosphere”. The result is North Ridge, a 14-resident small house addition featuring private rooms arranged around a kitchen, dining and living spaces oriented to views of gardens beyond. Gable roofs over the common spaces and service ‘garage’ break the massing into smaller, residential-scaled elements.
