Joseph Arnold Lofts

Seattle, Washington
131 units, retail, structured parking

Design Architect  Shoesmith Cox Architects
Architect-of-Record VIA Architecture.  Completed 2013

Opened in November of 2013, this 12-story Belltown mid-rise contains street-level retail and 131 apartment lofts taking advantage of uninterrupted views to Elliott Bay and downtown Seattle.  The building parti’ expresses the raw and simple nature of a loft building and the two-tiered height limit available on steeply-sloping sites.  The “Joe” was among the first multifamily buildings in North America to achieve the Green Globes certification equivalent to LEED Gold, and was awarded NAIOP’s Multi-Family Project of the Year.  Proving the value of design, this project recently sold for a Seattle-record price when acquired by a national portfolio investor.
