37 Alzheimer’s Memory Care Residents
Completed 2002 while at Mithun
To support Mather’s resident-centered care model based on the premise that “life is an activity”, a floor of the Carlson Boyd Place at Mather was renovated to create two memory care houses. The size, character and relationships of the spaces are residential with materials carefully coordinated to reflect the principles of dementia-capable care. The floor was fully occupied during both planning and renovation activities and memory care residents were active participants to the change in their home.
